Two vending brands, one way of doing things.

RIPZ is the house behind two vending brands, Ripz & Sipz and Ripz & Hitz. Both put premium machines full of trading cards, collectibles, squishies and fidget toys into the places people already spend their time, Ripz & Sipz in breweries, taprooms and sports bars and Ripz & Hitz in family venues. This page tells you why we started and where it goes next.

The story

How RIPZ started.

RIPZ began with one small moment that anyone who has bought a pack of cards will recognise: the second just before you open it. Everything we have built since is a way of giving more people that moment in better company.

Why cards

Opening a pack is a little surprise you can hold in your hand, and nobody knows what is inside until it is open. Trading cards, sports cards and collectibles give a kid and a grown collector the same small thrill, which makes them one of the few things a whole table can enjoy together.

Why a vending machine

A card shop asks you to make a trip, and most people never do. A machine brings the cards to where you already are and is ready whenever the venue is open. We wanted it to feel premium rather than like the snack machine by the restrooms, so ours has a lit glass front, a touchscreen and a code you can scan to see what is inside.

Why bars and family venues

Cards are more fun with friends than alone at a counter, and the places where people already gather are bars, taprooms, trampoline parks and family venues. That is why there are two brands. Ripz & Sipz is the name for a brewery, a taproom or a sports bar, and Ripz & Hitz is the name for a family venue, while the machines inside carry the same kinds of things.

Two brands

Two brands, one feel.

Ripz & Sipz and Ripz & Hitz are sister brands that share the same machines and the same kinds of things inside. Each has its own colours, the name on the machine follows the kind of place it stands in, and a guest who knows one will feel at home with the other.

Ripz & Sipz

Ripz & Sipz brings trading cards, sports cards, collectibles, squishies and fidget toys to breweries, taprooms and sports bars. It is made for a relaxed evening at a table with friends, with a pack to open between rounds.

Ripz & Hitz

Ripz & Hitz brings the same kinds of things, from trading card packs to squishies and fidget toys, to trampoline parks, mini golf courses, arcades and other family venues. It is made for families who like a small surprise to open between turns.

Both brands are designed around the same five words, whether the machine stands in a taproom or in a trampoline park lobby.

  • Family-friendly
  • Built to scale

Where it's going

More than machines.

The machines are where RIPZ starts, but we don't want them to be where it stops. These are the next places we plan to show up, and none of them has a date yet.

  • Pop-ups

A pop-up is a RIPZ table that appears for a day or a weekend at a brewery, a festival or a market. You can open packs and trade with other guests, and see what the machines carry before one arrives near you.

  • Card shows

A card show is an event where collectors and dealers fill a hall to buy, sell and trade cards. We plan to bring a RIPZ table to the shows near our venues, so the people who already love cards can find us there.

  • A storefront

Further out, we would like a shop of our own with a front door, where you can sit down, open a pack and trade with other collectors. It would carry both brands under one roof, the same way this website does.
